The City of Aspen has two great policies to help getting a home in the Roaring Fork Valley a reality. You will need to be a current employee with the City of Aspen if you request this assistance.
Rental Assistance
A full-time or part-time employee may apply for an interest free rental advance loan for one-half of the cost to secure housing including first and last month's rent plus damage deposit. The loan must be repaid in biweekly payroll deductions within one year.
Homeowner Assistance Loan Program
The City of Aspen helps to provide a secured, subordinate loan to assist regular full-time employees in good standing with down payment, closing costs, and/or interest rate buy down of a primary mortgage for an Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority (APCHA) housing purchase in the amount of 10% of the purchase price or $30,000, whichever is less. The maximum loan term is 15 years and the fixed interest rate is equal to the most recently published 10-year U.S. Treasury rate. Contact human resources for further information.
With three types of schooling from which to choose: public, private and charter, children in Aspen are afforded the best education possible.
