City of Aspen to host Community Picnic on August 18
Aspen, CO- The city of Aspen will host the annual Community Picnic on August 18 at Wagner Park from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. The picnic provides free food from local food trucks for the first 750 people and is an event organized for locals to gather and celebrate the summer.
This year’s event introduces a summer stage, which will host a community talent show starting at 2 p.m. Local performers will showcase their diverse talents and compete for cash prizes. Registration for the talent show is still available and community members can sign up to participate at aspenspecialevents.com.
Additionally, the picnic will include a Children’s Fair sponsored by Kids First. The Children’s Fair will include resources for families, health screenings, safety information, as well as free activities for kids including Kidtoons, face paintings, art tables, lawn games, and more.
"We are excited for the Community Picnic at Wagner Park this year. It will be an afternoon full of food, fun, and fantastic local talent and we hope to see everyone there,” explains Special Events assistant manager, Wesy Armour-Cook. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate our community, and enjoy the incredible talents of our friends and neighbors."
The city encourages all community members to walk, bike, carpool, or take RFTA to the picnic and avoid personal vehicle trips. Leashed dogs are welcome.
