Celebrate Aspen’s 30th Year as a Tree City USA

Aspen, Colorado – May 31, 2022 – The City of Aspen Parks Department will host a community celebration for Arbor Day on Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Paepcke Park.  The day will also be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Aspen’s designation as a Tree City USA with a special focus on Aspen trees as a keystone species in our valley.  There will be an exhibit on the history of Aspen’s trees in addition to free hotdogs and drinks, information booths on topics including tree planting, tree care, insect/disease identification, forest updates and wildfire.  Activities include games, a raffle, and free tree give-aways with proof of Aspen residency such as a utility bill.

Please note due to construction on the Paepcke Transit Hub that access to Paepcke Park is on the south side of the park.
