City of Aspen Staff Request an Extension to the Moratorium 
Second Reading for Ordinance No. 8, Series 2022 is May 3, 2022

Aspen, Colo. – April 26, 2022 – At a Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Aspen City Council voted 5-0 to approve the First Reading of Ordinance No. 8, Series 2022, an extension of Ordinance No. 6, Series 2022, the moratorium on the issuance of certain residential building permits. Council had the opportunity to question staff and proponents of the ordinance regarding its contents and purpose. Council will follow up with the Second Reading of Ordinance No. 8, Series 2022, at an Aspen City Council Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Aspen City Hall (427 Rio Grande Place, Aspen). Public Comment is welcome at the Special Meeting. The public is welcome to attend and/or participate in person or virtually. 

If approved, Ordinance No. 8, Series 2022, will not affect Ordinance No. 26, Series 2021, the moratorium on the issuance of short-term rental permits.
